Welcome Coach Bryant!

Join us in welcoming Head Coach Jim Bob Bryant and his family to our NPHS Wolfpack Football family!

Jim Bob Bryant is from Williamston, NC and played quarterback at Guiford College from 1991-1993 before transferring to East Carolina University to complete his education. After graduating from ECU with a degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences in 1995, Coach Bryant was Offensive Coordinator at Williamston High School (his alma mater) until 2002. During this time, Williamston HS... won the 1999 NC 1A State Championship and played for the title in 2001 and 2002. He started the NC Shrine Bowl Combines during his time at Williamston HS and traveled the state conducting combines at various high schools.

In 2003, Coach Bryant became Head Football Coach at Greene Central High School in Snow Hill, NC, where he coached the team to a 42-19 overall record, winning 2 conference championships during his time there. He was also selected 2003 and 2005 Coach of the Year, 2003, 2005, and 2007 area Coach of the Year, and was selected as an NC Shrine Bowl Coach in 2007.

Coach Bryant took over as Head Football Coach at Havelock High School in 2008, where he coached the Rams to an overall record of 118-16 during his 9 years there. During his time there, Havelock played for four 3A State Championships, winning three State Championships in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Havelock also led the state in total yards, points and/or defense in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Coach Bryant was also selected NC Associated Press State Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2013. In 2013, Bryant coached in the Semper Fidelis All-American Game in California and selected to coach in the Under-Armour All-American Game in 2014. In 2016, Coach Bryant was honored as a Carolina Panthers NFL Coach of the Week.

In 2017, Coach Bryant moved to Western NC and became Head Football Coach at Freedom High School in Morganton, NC, where he coached the Patriots to a 7-5 record. During Bryant’s first season at Freedom, 13 offensive school records were broken.

In 15 years as a Head Football Coach, Bryant’s over-all record is 167 and 42. He has had 11 articles professionally published by national magazines, flown with the Blue Angels, received the Governor’s Award for Bravery and Heroism, numerous players in college, and three are in the NFL.

In his free time, Coach Bryant enjoys watching college football, traveling, and spending time with his family. He has a wife, Mary Candace, two step sons, Cole and Charlie, and a dog aptly named “Coach.”

 

 

 

 

 

Welcome Coach Crowe

Chris Crowe is a native of Carthage, TN and played quarterback for legendary Tennessee High School Football coach Gary Rankin, now at Alcoa High School.  After high school he attended Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN from 1990-1993 where he was a three sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball.  He left college and joined the U.S. Navy in July 1993.

Coach Crowe served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years from 1993-2013 as a General Duty Corpsman, Surgical Technologist, Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, Independent Duty Corpsman and Senior Enlisted Advisor.  His duty stations included Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and onboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in Yokosuka, Japan.  During this time he completed 6 deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Australia, Korea and the Persian Gulf. 

Coach Crowe began his coaching career at Havelock High School in 2009 under Head Coach Jim Bob Bryant.  He served as wide receivers coach and JV offensive coordinator.  During his time there he helped coached the Varsity Rams to a 110-12 record winning 7 Conference Championships, 4 Regional Championships and 3 State Championships.  Also, during this time, the Junior Varsity record was 73-6, winning 7 Conference Championships including a 53 game winning streak from 2010-2016.

In 2017, Coach Crowe moved to Freedom High School with Coach Bryant and served as the wide receivers coach and JV Head Coach.

Coach Crowe is married to Melisa Crowe, also retired Navy.  They have three sons, Garrett, Christian and Nathan, one daughter, Alyssa and one dog, Bailey.
